Customs Gallery: post your images here

Just to reiterate: you get 1 raffle ticket per photo of your custom, how easy is that?   Awesome!

Some rules/guidelines for the images:

1. make sure that your photo is well lit and in focus - the idea is to show your custom in as much detail as possible, macro photography is a must here.
2. please do not post images wider than 600 pixels
3. you can submit more than one photo of one custom (to show more detail), but they will only count as 1, in other words, you won't get 5 raffle tickets for 5 different photos of the same custom  Wink!
4. it might be a good idea to photograph your custom against plain background or outdoors where there won't be too many distractions nearby.
5. your custom does not need to be a full figure, it can be something as simple as, for example, a modified jacket or hair.

Please note that this thread is for posting images only (plus any explanations about the custom), but please don't post comments.

Custom WILD ARMS Hair

Hair custom combining Wild Arms and RM Caine hair pieces.

Supplies:
Scissors.
Xacto knife (#11 blade in medium handle).
Super Glue (Loc-Tite "All Plastics" Super Glue).
RM Caine back hair with hat.
Wild Arms hair, front and back.

This simple custom hairstyle is made from RM Caine's hat and the Wild Arms hair. I used a sharp Xacto knife to trim the existing hair from around the rim of the hat, leaving a smooth edge all the way around. I used scissors to cut the round yellow disk out of the back section of the Wild Arms hair. I cut exactly around the disk. Then I super-glued the hair piece to the underside of the hat, lining up the cut-out segment of the hair along the inside edge of the white rim of the hat.

The front hair was more challenging. I had to trim the center "beads" section of the hair with the Xacto so it would slip under the rim of the hat. If I were to do this again, I think I could get a better fit, but this time I found it necessary to glue the front hair in place.

Custom Bare Feet and Short Shorts

Short-shorts combination using Tsukihime Arc and Wild Arms pieces.

Supplies:
Xacto knife (#11 blade in medium handle).
Super Glue (Loc-Tite "All Plastics" Super Glue).
Wild Arms Denim cut-off shorts.
Tsukihime Arc legs with bare feet.

I changed out the legs on the Wild Arms short shorts to make this sassy little custom. The original left leg can be removed from the Wild Arms shorts by gently pulling and twisting, since it's a glue-and-peg joint. It's actually inset a bit, so the hem of the shorts completely hides the seam!

The right leg has to be cut; I tried to be careful and incise the cut without damaging the frayed hem of the shorts.

The legs are from Tsukihime Arc cut off close to the hip at an angle matching that of the legs removed from the shorts.

Apply a drop of super glue, then jam 'em in there and hold 'til it sets! You'll end up with an invisible seam, if you're careful with your cuts!

This was the easiest, and most "factory original" looking modification I've done!

Street Fighter Arms Mod

A low-key modificiation: Street Fighter top with RM arms. So subtle you don't even notice it! Cool, huh?

Click here to see a similar "invisible" modification to the blue Street Fighter top.

Supplies:
Xacto knife (#11 blade in medium handle).
Super Glue (Loc-Tite "All Plastics" Super Glue).
RM Caine or Nazuna top.
Street Fighter top.

1. Using the Xacto knife, carefully remove the arms from the RM top where they meet the sleeves. You will need to carefully cut between the hands, as they are slightly joined where they meet behind the figure.
2. Use the Xacto knife to carefully remove the arms from the Street Fighter top where they meet the sleeves.
3. Use a tiny drop of super glue, as the directions on the package indicate, to affix the RM arms to the Street Fighter top. Hold in place for 30 seconds until set.
4. Voila! All done!

Additionally... the "boxing gloves" on the Street Fighter "punching" arms may be sanded down or the color can be stripped off with acetone. The arms can be glued onto the RM top, creating an RM top with more versatile arm positions. (See the pink-haired figure in this photo.)

Whoo, I hope I know what I'm talking about.

Supplies I used:

Sandpaper (various grades)
Super sculpey clay
Acrylic paints
Pinky and Gundam markers
and a clear, matte finishing spray.

This being my first custom, I was clueless with where to start.

It's hard to tell, but the eyes are indeed entirely repainted. It was too cold to do a good closeup of them, but I will make a tutorial next time I paint eyes, when I'm more confident.

This whole figure was one big experiment. I sanded down the original eyebrows and redrew them, and the hair and dress are both repaints.

When I started modeling the top piece, I actually removed the arms. I'm not very happy with the paintjob, but I'll just sand it down and redo it later if I feel. (or make a new one, I bought a spare of that top). Sculpey actually bakes pretty well on pinky figures, as I didn't go overtime. I then sanded it all down and repainted everything, and then superglued the arms back on.

The main disapointment was I had bought a pearlizing medium for her armor, so it was initially shiny, but when I added the matte spray, it lost all the shine it had. I think next time, I will try and spraypaint the top.. ^^;

Phoenix Wright!  I sculpted his hair and modified the top into a shirt and suit with epoxy putty.  Sanded, and painted with acrylic paint, then sealed with MSC and gloss and matt varnish  Heart

Kigurumi of Tarako.  Arms are cut and re-adjusted in a dancing pose.  Dress is a modified dress with scuplted collar, and painted with random mod pattern.  Feet are totally sculpted as I don't have bare feet :(  But I don't have pic to show  Doh!!  The Tarako head piece is sculpted with a poly plastic material which I forgot the name...  Dammit !
