Okaaaayyyy.... soooo.... as it turns out, the
hat is
NOT supposed to come off; instead, only the
crown of the hat is meant to be removed and switched. Silly me, I was thinking she had some sort of odd, brimless "travel cap" or something.
Apparently in the original manga stories the character
never removes her hat; hence, the hat is glued fairly securely to the top of the figure's head. Not so securely, obviously, that it can't be removed with sufficient determination (and force).

Removing the hat leaves a ring of paint and glue residue, although it's not a lot, and most of it can be scraped or wiped off. Unfortunately, there's also a hole in the top of the head where the hat attaches.
The long part of the back hair... is probably not supposed to be removed either, although again, with enough effort... or ignorance....

The body with the fancy floral-print dress does
not disassemble, and comes wrapped in a plastic bag to protect the finish.
The green dress comes apart at the standard Pinky:st places. The waist ribbon can be swapped out with a separate piece which consists of a ribbon and a basket with shoulder strap carrying a rather fearsome-looking dog-like creature (named Ioryogi in the manga). There's also a separate dog figure with its own little base so it can stand. Additional items include what appears to be a water bottle (it's actually a bottle for capturing spirits, according to what I've read) and a cute suitcase with an umbrella. The umbrella cannot be detached from the suitcase.
Other Pinky-Street members report that the finish does not seem particularly durable. The paint seems okay on my figure, except for where I broke off the hat.
There are a few minor differences compared to previous Pinky:st releases. The pegs on the accessories are much longer than on previous accessories. On the floral dress body there is only one hole, between the hands, to hold the suitcase rather than the usual hole in each hand. Similarly, on the green dress there is only an accessory hole in the upraised hand, not in the hand hanging at her side.
